butterfly bot

i was researching for a paper due in a couple days and kyrie just walked into our little carter room with a butterfly on her shoulder. she found him outside in the rain, fluttering around on the ground with a broken left wing. Chalice wasn't too enthused but kyrie and I have played with this little guy for the last hour and now he's resting on kyrie's dried roses sitting in the cloudy lit window cill. kyrie's convinced he will die in the next hour which makes me sad since i attach so quicky and we've already named him and taken 30 pictures. kyrie placed him on the flowers and said sweetly... "aww... he likes it there. he's found such a pretty place to die." why are butterflies so pretty and sweet and why do left wings have to break and butterflies have to die?

i named him bot.

that sweet little creature is a tiger swallowtail. click here if you'd like to read about it.

actually, update on bot...

he stayed in my room for a good three hours perched on my dried roses from eric (closest thing i had to a natural habitat) and started fluttering then flying around the room. i figured his wings just need to dry off or something (it had been raining) so i took him downstairs and out the front door of carter and he flew up and away.

sienna-

yes, I was BORN being up for you guys coming for fall break. The question is. . . YOU might not be so up for it because more than likely we are still going to be in ND until december. So the cost to get up here can be pricey. But i really hope you will still come. i am SO looking forward to it. it would make my fall ;-)
