i do not think i could love anyone
who does not have scars on their knees
from years and years
of tree-climbing
and bike-riding
and dog-walking
and swimming in creeks
and tripping down long flights of stairs.
because if you have no scars on your knees
then you have not
lived at all.

i have a scar on my knee. it's from a wart.
HAHAHAH!!! Yea what about the wart scars?! Do WE get a poem?? NOOOOOO, of course not.
Here's a funny conversation from when I was first getting to know you, Kyrie.
Linnea: (looking at my legs) "Gosh, I have so many bites on my legs, but I can't scratch them!!"
Kyrie: "Why not?"
Linnea: "Because they will become scabs!"
Kyrie: "Oh, I like having scabs and bruises and all that, it shows I'm out there doin' stuff and not being a loser."
Linnea: ---silence---
Kyrie, sounds like I need to get to know you better when I return to the States! I'm a scar lover too, and enjoy the bruises, scabs and anything else cool like that.
Ah, and I should mention, I have many scars on my kness... even added one from the trails of Nepal. Woo hoo! Good times indeed. :)
I like scars and bruises too!! They are like badges of greatness. Or at least that you led an adventurous life.
man, jo, that is rough (!!)
a rock getting stuck in your knee..
dang woman.
When I was playing football with jonjon I told him, "having all these bruises and cuts on my arms, and being sore I kind of like. It makes me feel tough or something.."
"that's stupid"
scars on my knees from greg sherwell tripping me in break-in at youth group...haha and scars on my elbows from falling off those big spindle wheel things haha that my friend was priceless...
haha..they should add to the poem:
"..and falling off big wooden spools"
Oh my goodness! I remember you falling off those spools. AHHHH! That was the funniest ever.
You just went "plop".
:-)
a little scream
and feet sticking up in the air..
