dipped in moonshine

"If I had words to make a day for you
I'd sing you a morning, golden and new
I would make this day last for all time
Give you a night dipped in moon shine."

I wish I came up with that line..."give you a night dipped in moon shine". This is the song on Babe when he's singing in the house and dancing all around. I've been trying to get my hands on the dvd to watch that part again. It's one of those glorious scenes and one of my friends had it in her head the other night and we kept singing it throughout the evening. It's been stuck in my head ever since. The tune completes it... and that last line.

ah, babe...
i think that movie's pretty brilliant. but apparently it creeps out the majority of the human population... what the heck, people? embrace it!

(i think we have it on vhs--you can come watch it over thanksgiving. heh heh.)

p.s. watch last season's 24? there i am, sitting in the living room, and i realize that jack bauer's evil father is the dear old man from babe. cracked me up!

And he is in the queen!!

My dad used to say the, "that'll do pig" line all the time!

except for his character in babe that actor always seems to play a bad guy. in lots of his roles he starts out seeming to be good, but then you find out he's an egg-sucking gutter rat.

He's not bad in the queen...
heh. It is the only other movie that I have seen him in that I can think of.

i STILL say "that'll do pig"
and i haven't seen the movie in
F-O-R-E-V-E-R!

it's amazing to me how actors can really just become something particular after they really make an impression as a certain character. example: speaking of 24...ole kiefer sutherland will always be el-freaky David from the lost boys! ha! i simply canNOT shake him of that role! and harrison ford is TOTALLY jack ryan and could never convince me that he was a psychopath in what lies beneath...which is an awesome movie...lost boys is a much less awesome movie...ok...i think i need some sleep now...

do ya smell what i'm cookin here tho?

Good news...you DID write the line "dipped in moonshine"...I just linked on from your blog to the sound-track and says "filled with moonshine". So you are now the Brilliant, creative writer of that line. And if I were you I would write it on something quickly and sign your name to it so the whole world knows that it is indeed yours:) Clever you!:)
