losing color

"A memory, even a happy a one , can never replace reality; it's never as moving, as thrilling, or as true. All memories, even the strongest and most cherished, inevitably end by losing their color and clarity"

-Celine Dion

(lowen, sienna and i were talking about this subject the other night. this quote pretty much sums up our converstaion. interesting to think about how our reality is constantly becoming our past. we can't slow it down. and everytime it becomes our past it instantly fades a bit because reality is so much more...real. this whole subject could be sad but to me, its kinda fascinating)

this is so true.

i wish i could sit in your house some evenings and be in these conversations that you and your siblings have . . . i am fascinated by you howards. truly. you seem to me to be big thinkers and feelers . . . and you are bold enough to share a lot of it. i appreciate that candidness.

ah, if only i could be sitting on your couch the next time a good conversation comes up . . .

It is sad to think of the time that's gone and the age that is spent. But happy to think that we even had the chance to spend it, and spent it so well.

There are lots of ideas that a person could come up with to make things sad.

What about the moment of reliving a memory? Isn't that a reality of thinking and feeling?

I think I dig whacha saying, but memory only exists cause our brain is currently active.

...and I (Sarah Funke, that is) wandered over here because Sienna, being back from Africa, has retired from the blogging business and Lowen, being whatever he is, has neglected to post recently.
