That was our chant last night around 9:30pm when Battleball began. Halls came together with war paint (mascara) on our faces, ready to KILL the other halls in a huge game of dogeball. We call it "battleball" here though...gets us a little more pumped up. The bagpipes started playing at 6 in preperation for the games 3 hours later. I left work an hour early so I wouldn't miss it and ran to my hall and all the girls were dressed in black! That was our theme. Kyrie was getting ready with some other girls though and when we met her at the gym, well she wasn't in black...she was our PINK mascot. I wished we had all worn PINK after I saw her! The teams each had about 30 or 40 people and on the count of three from the referee, everyone ran towards the middle, trying to grab the 6 balls and then it's crazy running or getting smacked in the face from then on. Really intenese. Really fun. Kyrie, me and two other girls were the last ones left on our team, mostly because we were hiding behind all the guys during the game but we lasted the longest on our team and then 20 seconds later got smacked in the face with a flying ball. adrenaline though must be the reason it didn't hurt. :)

lunch time
--the climax of my day.!! and usually best part. (depending on the people and food)
i actually found something in the great hall that i really love and have eaten it for the last like five meals. whole wheat bread, lettuce, tomatoes, mayonaise, mustard, turkey or ham and honey. cut it in half and it's REALLY good. today i had that sandwich and a slice of pizza, a corndog and a salad. guessing i was hungry... it's dangerous eating when your starving and when theres a whole room full of food at my disposal.
food this weekend should be good. we're all looking forwards to it. gotta step it up for the previewers!!

siblinghood
I just found this on my cousin, Kiko's site and I love it! It's the older half of the howards. :)
how kilter went down
i had way too much fun putting my costume together. i even rubbed charcoal on my face and neck, which sorta looked like i didn't steady my hand enough when i was putting on my eye shadow. oh dear.
the last shot is of mary anne, tobi and katie who were all marine biologists at the last minute.
finished the night with a visit to clumpies with jared and geanna for ice cream that was way to expensive and really yummy

I like Joni Mitchell.
In class today my english professor, Foreman, played us a song. It was written by Joni Mitchell but sung by Tom Rush and it was incredibly beatiful to my ear. When I got back to my room I was still thinking about it so I downloaded it from itunes. Read the lyrics. They're beautiful. Maybe it's the voice, music, and words together that make it beautiful but read them anyway and then find the song and listen to it. Listen to the version by Tom Rush if you can. His voice is so rugged. It's really nice. (If you email me, aubrensienna@gmail.com, I'll send you the song and Joni's version as well.) Here's just bits of it...
I had a love in summertime with summer-colored skin
And not another one in town my darling's heart could win
But when the sky turned traitor cold
And bully winds did rub their noses in the snow
She got the urge for going and I had to let her go
And she got the urge for going when the meadow grass was turning brown
Summertime was falling down and winter's moving in
I'll ply the fire with kindling and pull the blankets to my chin
I'll lock the vagrant winter out and bolt my wandering in
I'd like to call back summertime
And ask her just to stay another month or so
But she got the urge for going
I guess she'll have to go
And she got the urge for going when the meadow grass was turning brown
Summertime is falling down and winter's moving in
And she got the urge for going when the meadow grass was turning brown
All my empires are fallen down and winter's moving in
