let's swing!
playgrounds are fun. when you're stressed out, go get on a swing and try to flip upside down like Kyrie does. It takes your worries away...

she's got a ticket.
I've got a ticket to Norway and I'm leaving in 5 weeks! I've been counting down the days. One of my dear friends from the Mercyship, Signe Lindland, is from Norway and before I left the ship almost a year ago (march 31st!) we made plans to do this. I would come live with her in the summer. The thought of never seeing this girl, who was like my sister, really scared me. So we both saved our pennies until Christmas time and then bought my ticket together. Signe even got me a job.
Sam went to Norway last summer.... he said it's the most beautiful place in the world and that 9 out of 10 girls are good looking.
She'll be waitin' for me :) (she's a goof... a lot like mrs. lisa)
I"ll be driving in this car...
and sitting in this living room (signe will be moving into her own place the week i come though so we'll be busybusy painting and furnishing)
i can't wait. i'll bring you all back somethin!

praise the one who paid my debt and raised this life up from the dead
we just had a praise and worship time here at covenant and that song was stuck in my head while i was trying to come up with a title so i just went with it. it's kind of fitting because if God did not show me the purpose of life, i would not have the drive to travel to Peru and minister, love, serve and share with those people. Praise God for giving my life meaning!
these are just random photos i recieved from my friend's photo batches. the one of the hand with the ring is my hand against the pacific ocean. first time i'd seen it but we were on a bus and couldn't stop so i just stuck my hand out the window.

I taught prepositions!
I taught a 5th grade class yesterday..I'm really relieved that it's over. It's been causing me anxiety and stress for weeks. It was intimidating with the real teacher sitting there assessing my every move. But other than that it felt very right. They would raise their hand and I'd answer their question. I'm used to raising my hand...I loved being on the other end of that. It was a priviledge. I can't wait till I have my own classroom.

the children of Peru
thank you to all my supporters for helping me get to Peru so i could meet all these kids! their numbers grew and grew all week long. had about 150 by the last day; all screaming, running around, holding our hands, playing with our hair, asking our names, pointing to our sunburn and saying "rojo."
check out the rest of my Peru photos and adventures on my flickr site-->
Peru in 8 Pictures
this was actually the name of a store in the Peru airport--cute, i thought.
the group: Americans and Peruvians (if they're pale, they're american) i really loved my Covenant teammates. some i didn't know when i went, some i knew a little. such a good balance going on. nothing bonds quite like missions trips!
dan pick and luggage. the day before we left we all had to put out our luggage so some people could come pick it up and take it a day before us to the airport.
the buildings are so brightly colored there! yellow, orange, aqua, turquoise, blue, red. why don't we have buildings like that? make for such good photos.
i took this shot from the bus on our way to Haunta. Peruvian streets are so narrow and dirty but have such character! i didn't mind the bus ride at all. so many new things to look at!
chickens for sale
i got so used to not being able to talk to people or read anything while i was in Peru. got into a billboard-reading frenzy when i got back to the states: "i can read again!!"
more photos to come! i haven't even showed you the VBS kids!

matching maternity shirts :)
i have this favorite shirt. A couple months ago when Papa came to visit he took kyr and i to Target. I spotted this shirt in the maternity section and actually stopped to look. It was a fitted maternity shirt and what I loved about it was that it was longer and it was polka dotted. I tried it on and bought it. I was really excited about it cause it was a comfortable material and seemed perfect. When I got back to my dorm I ran to show my good friend Taryn (my future roommate). I started explaining to her that "I know the tag says maternity...but.." she stopped me and ran back in her room. She came out holding up the same exact shirt! She had gotten it too, 6 months earlier and adored it. So now my good friend and I have matching maternity shirts that are actually the most perfect shirt in the world.
